Sometimes the girl is here; with her indigo eyes

Rumour is a powerful thing. It washes over people like a heavy rain; impacting everything in its wake. It might not hurt, but it certainly leaves its mark. Everyone gets wet. Some don't mind, but others catch pneumonia.

A parapluie would help, but they don't catch everything.

The only thing that works is being indoors during a downpour. Watching the rain hit the glass, smiling because you know you are safe.

But people out there aren't safe. People get hurt.

It would be better for everyone if it was sunny all the time. Just like California, but without the freaks or fault lines.

I don't know if we'd need it to be perpetually sunny, showers here and there wouldn't be so bad. Perfection in and of itself isn't perfect. Kind of a utopian/dystopian catch 22.

But I know I'd like a break from the rain. You get used to the hurt, it's the exhaustion from it that gets you.

getting wet once in awhile is inevitable
at the time it may be unpleasant
but it makes you feel alive
and think of how you feel once all dry and warm again

Probably a little bit like how I feel after reading this.

'parapluies' don't technically catch any of the downpour, they just deflect it onto your surroundings. so the question remains, is it perhaps better just to take what comes your way? sometimes, i think, you need to experience the stinging chill of the storm in order to strengthen your resolve the next time a shower heads your way. after all, we can't spend all of our lives indoors, avoiding the rain...
